Baring It All

Generations of werewolves have been secretly residing in a secluded valley a stone’s throw from Grundy, Alaska. So when a snooping Outsider comes to Grundy to investigate rumors of lycanthropic shenanigans in the area, the valley’s pack alpha, Maggie Graham, resolves to chase him away, even if doing so takes a quick bite on the butt. What a pity that researcher Nick Thatcher turns out to be so drool-worthy, and that his kisses make Maggie want to sit up and beg. Maggie just can’t seem to convince Nick to leave . . . and even worse, she can’t convince “herself “to stay away from “him. “Cross-species dating is problem enough for a harried alpha female, but on top of that, a rival group of werewolves is trying to move into the valley. With interpack war threatening, Maggie can’t afford to be distracted. Combining romance and a career can be tough for anyone; for a werewolf in love with a human, it may be disastrous. . . .

Six months ago, someone (I can’t remember who) posted How to Flirt With a Naked Warewolf in their In My Mailbox  post, and with a title like that I was intrigued. I immediately got ahold of the first book ) and love it. I loved it so much I debated reading the second book. See, I didn’t much like Maggie in the first book and since she is she star of book 2, I thought I’d wait.

Last week I found this one on audible on sale, so I went ahead and grabbed it. Wow, am I glad I did! I listened non-stop, the whole book in one day. Amanda Ronconi is the perfect narrator for this series – both for Mo’s voice in Flirt and Maggie’s in Seduce.

Maggie Graham is the (elected) Alpha for the Warewolf pack near Grundy Alaska, and she’s nearing the time when she needs to find a mate and produce some pups to carry on the wolf pack. Unfortunately, the pickings are slim and to make matter worse – Nick Thatcher is snooping around the area for warewolves (he has multiple PhD’s including one specialty in mythological creatures. He suspects Maggie’s sister in law, Mo.

Wile Seduce doesn’t have as much humor as Flirt did, it’s easy to grow attached to Maggie and cheer on her blooming relationship with Nick. I also enjoyed getting to see more of the inner working of the Pack as a family – which Flirt was lacking because Cooper was in self exile.

If our looking for a good (quick) read full of Warewolves, Alaskan nature and a sweet (but predictable) romance the Molly Harpers Art of Seducing a Naked Warewolf is the book for you!

I think you’d enjoy them, since we seem to enjoy the same type of romance reads! They are pretty funny, but definitely start with How to Flirt with a Naked Warewolf. (And? I asked Molly Harper on Twitter – she’s hoping to have a third book!!)

I agree 100% with your review…love these books! How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf is definitely my favourite of the two…Mo is the shit. But Maggie grew on me in the second book, and it was a pretty fun read.

    Great review!

It took a little while for me to fall in love with Maggie (where with Mo, it was INSTANT) but I did love her in the end. I think my hesitance to love her was because she was such a cold character for most of the first book.

  3. This sounds really fun.
One of my friends is trying to get me to read this books but based on what you said I think I’m going to listen to them instead! Thanks for your review.

I’d heard of these books before but the title kind of turned me off. I guess I wasn’t sure what all they would be about? But it sounds like they are just cute romances. I’m happy you liked it. :)

I just brought this one home on Friday, after devouring and loving Flirt! I felt the same as you, I didn’t love Maggie, but she was a bit better by the end of Flirt, and I had so much fun I was ready to go for it. I’m glad to hear it was great! Sad that it doesn’t have as much humor, which is one of the things I loved most about the first one, but I’m sure I’ll enjoy it regardless.
