Friday, March 23rd – Bookish Trends: What are some bookish trends you are noticing in the literature world today? Is there a particular trend you’d like to see more of?
Lately I am definitely seeing mostly Paranormal and Dystopian within YA and a lot of Paranormal even in the adult literature. Although I do think that’s party because of where/how I’m finding my books. But it seems like even the contemporary books I pick up have at least a paranormal spin to them.
Hosted by Parajunkee & Alison Can Read, as a great way to find new book blogs!
Q: What is the longest book you’ve read? What are your favorite 600+ page reads?
I would probably say Stephen King’s The Stand – which my personal (hardcover) edition is 1,344 pages. (I got this copy when I was 16, and it was my first King novel!)
Really, most of my favorite LONG reads are owed to Mr. King. I adore his books, and somehow a long book from him really doesn’t seem so long!
I would say that the Stand is also probably my favorite. Closely followed by Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander and then several other King books. (11/22/63, The Dark Tower Series and Duma Key among the favorites there.)
