Read Faster! (My Own Read-A-Thon) || For Love and Books

This week I was looking at my annual goals that I set WAY back in January. I realized that I have a lot of reading to do to catch up with my yearly reading goal! (I have had a slow few months in terms of reading!)

My goal? 140 books.
Current total? 79 books.

If I don’t finish another book in August, then I need to read 15 books each month for the rest of the year to reach my goal. Doable, but who knows what will happen with life and how busy I’ll get!

I decided to play it safe, I’m going to have my own personal mini-read-a-thon this weekend! (And posting it here, so you all see my goals? It will just encourage me. I hope. )

So what books do I want to read this weekend?

Currently Reading: Shark Bait 10% - Loving this!! Although I will definitely have nightmares about high school tonight!

Love this idea! My goal is only 100 per yr. I’d love to read more but I know how life gets in the way. I’m 11 books behind. Isn’t that awful!! I took a wee break this summer and probably shouldn’t have. I need to do my own mini read-a-thon. Just knock a bunch of books off my list all at once. I like it. I think I’m going to do it this next week. It’s non-stop raining. Good time to do it!

I red 124 last year (my goal was 80!) and 60 the year before (the first time I tracked) So I just wanted to up last years total – I think I was too ambitious!

Lots of rain certainly is a good time to do this I’ve finished one book today, I’m hoping to finish two more (one audio)

Good luck with your goals!!! I’m well over my goal already and could probably slow down, but my books are tempting me. And the library. And my audiobooks. It’s hard NOT to read … I just don’t get non-readers.

Maybe one of these upcoming Fall weekends, I’ll have a self-imposed readathon. It could be fun!

I’m with you – I just don’t get non-readers! My husband reminded me that I’ve read more books than most people read in a two year span – but it’s not enough for me. LOL!!!)

You are a bit more busy than me So A smaller goal is fine – I read somewhere (wish I remembered where) that most American’s average 1 book per month. So you’re still ahead of the average.

I’ve always fantasized about being able to take an extended weekend off of work just to sit home and read, but I don’t know if I could keep myself focused enough.

How does listening to one book and reading another work for you? Not too confusing, I hope?
