The first three books of Shannon Stacey’s Kowalski series cemented my spot as an adoring fan-girl! This fun-loving family from New Hampshire captured my heart from the very first page of Exclusively Yours! And now, the Kowalski Family is back – although it’s the cousins (Sean’s brother) in Maine this time! A chance to explore another branch of the family, with new and endearing characters!
I have to say, before I jump into my gush-fest review, that I am a bit sad we didn’t get to see the New Hampshire Kowalski’s or even and update or mention of Kevin and Joe and how their stories turned out. (Which is one of the reasons I really love series romance like this…) We did get a quick mention of Sean and Emma (but no details! I want details!!) Now that I’ve got that out of my system? Time to resume my regular scheduled gushing!
Shannon Stacey’s writing is fabulous, she has a way of making you feel like you’re in Whitford. (In fact, I’m craving a burger from the Trailside Diner now!) Her writing gives me such a vivid picture of what is happening, it’s more like watching a movie than reading a book and really reminds me of why I love reading in the first place.
Mitch Kowalski reminds me of my best friend in a lot of ways. (And while I read a few reviews saying that people didn’t like that his man-whoring ways seemed to be unrealistic? To me, I’ll be honest – since he doesn’t read this – his past relationships reminded me a LOT of my friend. Entering into a fling with both parties knowing and accepting it’s just temporary.) So I think I fell in love with Mitch right away, for that relation alone. (Although my love was more platonic and brotherly than my head over heels infatuation with his brother and cousins!)
And Paige? For once I was honestly rooting for the Hero to pick her (rather than me, as I usually silently hope for!) She was great, and her inner turmoil with relationships was understandable and made me sympathetic towards her. I was so happy that she’d found her happily ever after that included a cozy new town to call home!
I will definitely be tuning in (ASAP) for Ryan’s story when it comes out in a few weeks!! (And Guys with last names starting with K and first names of Ryan are a soft spot for me, since my husband is a Ryan “K”!!!)
