MY THOUGHTS:

The very first book I purchased (non-kindle) when I started my blog was The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer. I bought it on release day, having never heard much about it, but loving the cover. Inside the pages? I fell in love with Noah Shaw and felt an immense need to take Mara under my wing. So when I saw The Evolution of Mara Dyer on Edelweiss? I didn’t hesitate for a second, I clicked request, downloaded it and immediately dove back into Mara’s world.

After reading the second book in this series, I had to sit and think awhile. Digest what had happened. Because one thing about this amazingly beautiful yet insane story that Michelle Hodkin has given us? One thing is that you are never quite sure what is going on. You aren’t sure what is real and what is hallucination. Who is on your side and who isn’t. And just when you think you have it figured out? You get thrown a curve ball and it flips the world upside down again.

While we’re discussing the writing, let’s talk characters! While Mara is as wonderful as ever, the real star of this book is the beloved Noah Shaw. He is heartbreakingly handsome, and loyal to the core yet with his own secrets that the reader can’t wait to figure out!

One thing I love about Evolution is that it adds a new element to Mara’s tale. A new mystery, to build onto this already intense and confusing plot. (And I say confusing in the best possible eat.) there are flashbacks, nightmares and mysterious missing time.

The Evolution of Mara Dyer is one of the mot gripping and amazing books I have read this year. If you haven’t already read the first installment, I encourage you to do so immediately! That way you can grab a copy of this book ASAP!
