Today, I am incredibly excited to bring to you a Q&A with Susan Mallery, author of the wonderful Fool’s Gold Christmas (among other amazing books!!)

(My Review of Fool’s Gold Christmas!)

1. A Fool’s Gold Christmas features Evie and Dante, two characters who bond over their tragic pasts and their dislike for the Christmas Season. Are you a big Christmas person like the citizens of Fool’s Gold, or do you fall closer to Evie and Dante on that scale?

I love Christmas! Let me rephrase: I loooooooooove Christmas!!!!! Every year, I get myself into the holiday spirit by reading holiday romances, starting in October and going all the way through the end of the year. I cut my teeth writing category romances, and when I was lucky enough to have a November or December release, I squealed because it meant that I could immerse myself in Christmas traditions while writing.

2. Aside from the Stryker brothers, now that it appears Dante is becoming a permanent resident of Fool’s Gold, who is he most likely to spend a “Guys Night Out” with?

Aside from the Stryker brothers? I think he and Tucker Janack (Only His, Fool’s Gold book 6) would get along great. Like Dante, Tucker is a professional man with a bit of a bad boy in him. These are men who love adventure, and who love strong, independent women.

3. Evie is the baby of the four Stryker siblings, you’ve also written about the large Hendrix Family, and Pia and Raoul already have a large family of their own, Is there a reason you focus on such large families?  

I’m an only child, so writing about large families is sort of fantasy fulfillment to me. Growing up, I was always a little jealous of my friends with large families. (And they were always a little jealous of me. You know how that goes!)

4. What’s next for Fool’s Gold? (Please tell us that you have LOTS in the future for our favorite town!!)

In 2013, a group of ex-military men are moving to Fool’s Gold to open a bodyguard academy. One of the men is Ford Hendrix, who is leaving his post as a Navy SEAL to return to his hometown… where his mother and triplet sisters are eager to find him a wife. Poor Ford doesn’t know what he’s in for! The 2013 Fool’s Gold books will be:

TWO OF A KIND (July 2013)
THREE LITTLE WORDS (August 2013)
