Top Ten Favorite Kick-Ass Heroines
Brought to you by The Broke and the Bookish
Before I jump into this weeks Top Ten – I want to take a second to apologize for my impromptu blog break! Between my husband being home for a week (he travels for work and so hometime is rare and precious!) and a quick visit with grandparents – including a scramble to put together a Halloween Costume for my kidlet? I just let the blog slip in my priorities – and I’m sorry for that! But I’m back and ready to blog regularly!!
October 30: Top Ten Favorite Kick-Ass Heroines
I’ll go ahead and start with the usual suspects (that I’m sure you’ll see a lot of today!) Tris, from Divergent by Veronica Roth is the first Heroine that comes to my mind. If you’ve read it, you understand. If you haven’t? Well, you’re missing out!
And of course Katniss from the The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and Hermione from Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling are two other incredibly obvious choices for this list!
A little less obvious – but still probably bound to be mentioned? (At least I think they should be mentioned lots today!!) Rose from Vampire Academyby Richelle Mead!
Then, we’ll go into the adult category – I feel like I have to mention Sookie from Southern Vampire/Sookie Stackhouse by Charlaine Harris and possibly even more endearing is Jane Jameson from Jane Jameson/Nice Girls by Molly Harper! (They both fall into the same category, if you ask me!) And we’ll lump Stephanie Plum in there too! (Stephanie Plum by Janet Evanovich)
I also want to give a shout out to Heather! (Heather Wells by Meg Cabot )
Now, into the category of Romance Heroines? (Which are my favorite kind lately!!) The first to pop in my mind is Daisy from Lakeshore Chronicles by Susan Wiggs. With Daisy we get a unique chance to watch her grow up through the series before she finally is an adult with her own story! (Which was an incredibly emotional story to tell!)
And lately, I’ve been on a Jill Shalvis kick, since discovering Lucky Harbor! And Tara (Book #2) really stole my heart with her story. Maybe I’m just a sucker for Southern Belles in Romance Novels! (The Sweetest Thing (Lucky Harbor, #2) by Jill Shalvis)
